ISO 22005 – Traceability Program

Traceability in the Food Industry

PRIVATE STANDARDS
The ISO 22005 standard outlines the principles and sets out the basic requirements for the design and implementation of a traceability system.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has established the ISO 22005:2007 standard for the traceability of food and feed. This standard defines the principles and core requirements for designing and implementing a traceability system and is applicable to any company operating at any stage of the food and feed supply chain.

Recent food safety scandals (such as dioxins in pork and poultry) have highlighted the urgent need for companies to develop comprehensive traceability systems. Since risks can arise at any stage of the production process and throughout the entire supply chain, control and communication across the process are essential.

TÜV HELLAS, drawing on its long-standing experience in system and product certification and responding to developments and concerns in the field of food and feed, conducts inspections and issues conformance certificates to companies implementing Traceability Management Systems that comply with the requirements of ISO 22005:2007 and the Internal Traceability Regulation of TÜV HELLAS
